Alfred Schipke is the IMF Senior Resident Representative. Previously, he was a division chief in the Asia and Pacific Department, where he coordinated the work on fast growing low-income countries in South-East Asia (Frontier Economies) and led missions to Vietnam. Also, he was a division chief in the IMF’s Western Hemisphere Department in charge of the Latin Caribbean and Eastern Caribbean Currency Union (ECCU) divisions. He teaches international trade and finance at Harvard University. His research has focused on economic integration and the linkages between macroeconomics and finance.









Kevin Cheng, a citizen from Hong Kong SAR, joined the IMF in 2002. He has extensive experience working within the IMF: in Asia Pacific Department, he is currently as a senior economist on Asia’s Regional Studies Division and has led in the production of Asia’s Regional Economic Outlook (REO) publication. Before working on Asia, he was a senior economist on France and Euro Area policy and also spent several years in the IMF’s Research Department, dealing with a range of issues including energy and commodities, and multilateral surveillance on G-20 countries and the World Economic Outlook (WEO) publication.
