The 10th “Yan Fu Lecture” invites America Professor Steven N. Durlauf to talk about Social Interaction and Individual Behavior

On the afternoon of June 15th, 2012, the 10th “Yan Fu Economics Memorial Lecture” was held in Wanzhong Building at Langrun Garden, Peking University. Steven N. Durlauf, the distinguished Economist and Professor in Wisconsin University was invited to give a lecture about his most recent research achievement on Social Interaction and Individual Behavior, using economics perspective to illustrate a sociology issue. The lecture was hosted by Professor Wu Hemao, the Executive Vice President of the National School of Development. Professor Justin Yifu Lin, the Honorary President of the school also attended the lecture.

 

Vice President of the National School of Development, Professor Yang Yao made a brief introduction of Professor Steven. Prof. Steven. He is the Director of the economic program in the world-renowned think tank Santa Fe Institute as well as a researcher in the US National Bureau of Economic Research. He is one of the editors of the Economic Growth Manual. The second edition of The Palgrave: A Dictionary of Economics which he chiefly edited is also worldly renowned. Social Interaction and Individual Behavior is his latest research area.
