A grand ceremony was held at the Great Hall of the People on December 18, 2018 to mark the 40th anniversary of China’s reform and opening up. Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China, President of the People's Republic of China, and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, attended the ceremony and delivered the keynote speech. At the ceremony, Wang Huning, member of the Central Politburo Standing Committee of the CPC and Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee read the Decision of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council on Commending the Contributors to the Reform and Opening Up. The CPC Central Committee and the State Council decided to confer 100 cadres including Yu Min the title of reform pioneer, and presented them with reform pioneer medals.
 

Professor Justin Yifu Lin

Professor Justin Yifu Lin, Honorary Dean of National School of Development at Peking University, Dean of the Institute of New Structural Economics at Peking University and Dean of the Institute of South-South Cooperation and Development at Peking University was awarded the reform pioneer medal, and was honored as a pioneer of the theory of economic restructuring.
