NSD focuses on research, adhering to world-class academic standards while addressing real issues in China.
It has a strong scientific research team, with two academicians of the Academy of Sciences of Developing Countries and eight Yangtze River Scholars of the Ministry of Education. Fifteen people have been selected for the Peking University Boya Talent Program. The academic publications of teachers in NSD are in the leading position in China.
China Economic Quarterly, and its international edition, China Economic Quarterly International (CEQI), China Economic Journal (CEJ), China Economic Annual Conference, NBER-CCER Annual Conference, CCER Summer Institute initiated by NSD have become important academic platforms for economists both domestically and abroad.
China Economic Quarterly
An academic journal of economics sponsored by the CCER of Peking University, and published by the Peking University Press. Using the internationally accepted anonymous peer review system, the quarterly publishes original Chinese-language articles including theory studies, empirical studies, review articles, and comments. Since 2012, the journal has been selected as a source journal of Chinese Social Sciences Citation Index (CSSCI), and its impact factor has been ranked second in the category of "Economic Theory" for years, and it has been selected as one of the "China's Most Internationally Influential Academic Journals" for years. In 2020, China Economic Quarterly International (CEQI) was launched, which has been included in many authoritative databases.
China Economic Journal (CEJ)
China Economic Journal (CEJ) is an English-language academic journal co-sponsored by the College and the Economics Association of the United States. The CEJ is an English-language academic journal that publishes. It mainly publishes academic and policy commentaries on topical issues of China's economic development. It mainly publishes academic and policy commentary articles on topical issues of China's economic development. According to the report released by Coreview report, in 2023, CEJ's impact Factor is 3.7, ranking CEJ in the global economic journal Q1.
CCER Working Paper Series
The Series include unpublished working papers of NSD professors, and about 430 Chinese and English papers have been published in print and electronic versions.
【CCER Summer Institute】 Bring together first-class scholars in economics and management at home and abroad to discuss and exchange academic papers on special topics. Since 2016, it has been held continuously every summer for three days.
【NBER-CCER Annual Conference】 The Conference is co-organized yearly by the U.S. National Bureau of Economic Research and China Center for Economic Research since 1998, enhancing the academic exchanges between China and the United States.
【Cross-Strait Forum on Economic Development】The biannual Forum is set up by the CCER and the Institute of Economics of Academia Sinica, Taiwan since 1996, providing an academic exchange platform of economics across the Taiwan Strait in China.
【China Economic Annual Conference】 Initiated in 2001, China Economic Annual Conference aims to strengthen the exchanges and cooperation among economics departments of Chinese universities and research institutions at home and abroad.
