
Professor Huang Yiping, Dean of the National School of Development at Peking University, has recently been invited by the Group of Thirty (G30) to join the organization as an individual member.
The G30 consists of approximately thirty highly influential figures in the global economic and financial fields. Renowned as a premier global economic and financial think tank, it is dedicated to studying key challenges in the world’s economic and financial systems, fostering in-depth exchanges among members, seeking policy consensus, and continuously exerting substantial influence on the formulation of international rules and global governance decisions.
G30 members are primarily current and former central bank governors, finance ministers, leaders of international financial institutions, and distinguished scholars. Current members include the incoming Chair of the U.S. Federal Reserve and the central bank governors of the United Kingdom, China, Japan, South Africa, and other countries. In their joint invitation letter, Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Chairman of the G30 Board of Trustees and President of Singapore, and Raghuram G. Rajan, Chairman of the G30 and former Governor of the Reserve Bank of India, highly praised Professor Huang Yiping’s outstanding contributions to academic research and policy-making throughout his career. They expressed confidence that Professor Huang’s expertise and leadership in areas such as macroeconomic policy, financial reform, economic development, and the international financial system will bring significant value to the Group’s future agenda and work.
