The workshop is organized with the aim of collecting papers for special issue on China’s Foreign Trade in the Global Economy of China Economic Journal (CEJ). Experts on academic field of international trade are invited to present and discuss the submissions at the meeting. Hot topics as China's new opening and Shanghai free trade zone will be explored. Prof. Yiping Huang and Prof. Miaojie Yu will be co-chairing the meeting. Associate Dean of Faculty of Business and Economics, University of Hong Kong - Prof. Larry Qiu is on the presenter list.

China Economic Journal (CEJ) is the official journal of China Center for Economic Research (CCER), National School of Development (NSD) at Peking University. The British Publisher, Routledge Taylor&Francis Group, is responsible for publication affairs. The journal has been enjoying a high reputation since it was started in 2007 as one of rare academic journals in China concerning the country’s economic issues that only publish papers in English. Currently Prof. Yiping Huang serves as Editor-in-Chief of the journal, while Prof. Yan Shen and Miaojie Yu are Deputy Editors.

The workshop consists of two sessions:
Session 1: Paper 1: An overview of China-Korea Free Trade Area
Paper 2: The Production Chain and Sino-US Game in TPP
Paper 3: An Anatomy of Intermediaries in China’s Export Market
Session 2: Paper 4: Understanding China’s Foreign Trade: A Literature Survey
Paper 5: RMB Appreciation and Profitability of Exporting Firms
Paper 6: Revisiting the Role of Regional Integration in China during 1978-1992
