Professor Lin Yifu completes his four-year tenure at the World Bank and returns to Peking University with honor

    After successfully completed his four-year tenure as World Bank Chief Economist and Senior Vice President, Lin Yifu, the founder of BiMBA at Peking University and the Honorary President of the National School of Development arrived back in Beijing a few days ago.

    “As one of the most famous economists in China, Professor Lin Yifu is undertaking an ambitious project to explain the reasons for the rapid industrialization and the lagging development in the poverty-stricken area.” The World Bank comments that during his tenure, Lin Yifu devoted in promoting the academic standard of the bank and played a crucial role in setting the economic research agenda for the institution. During his four-year tenure, he facilitated the communication between China, the World Bank and the state governments. In particular, he made a lot of independent contribution to the institutional innovation.
