The Tenth NBER-CCER Conference on China and the World Economy was successfully held

The Tenth NBER-CCER Conference on China and the World Economy was successfully held from July 2 to July 4, 2008, in China Center for Economic Research (CCER).

The conference was held in 5 sessions, which was chaired by Prof. Yang Yao, Shang-Jin Wei, Chong-En Bai, Jens LudwigHo-Mou Wu and Charles Hulten separately.

Economists from National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER), CCER and Tsinghua University held discussions in a wide range of topics including Recent Developments in China and the World Economy; Crime and Economy; Macroeconomic Issues; Productivity; Social Sectors; and Financial Markets.

Dr. Yi Gang, Deputy Governor of the People's Bank of China also made a presentation at the conference.

The NEBR and CCER have jointly started this annual conference since 1998, and it was only interrupted by SARS in 2003. This year the conference has attracted around 200 people from all over the country.
