On 15th -19th October, National School of Development (NSD) organized an academic group-visit to the Institution of Economics of Academic Sinica in Taiwan, and held together “The 10th Economic Development Workshop across the Taiwan Strait”.

Professor YAO Yang, Dean of NSD and Director of CCER, Professor ZHANG Xiaobo, Professor YU Miaojie, Associate Professor Lei xiaoyan, Assistant Professor WANG Min, and Assistant Professor ZHAO Bo are all presented their papers on the workshop. Topics of the workshop mainly cover international economics, health economics, environmental economics, and macroeconomics. After the workshop, all NSD professors also visited the Hu-Shi museum, Taipei Palace Museum, and Taipei 101 building.

Economic Development Workshop across the Taiwan Strait was jointly initiated in 1996 by Professor Justin Lin Yifu, founder of China Center for Economic Research (CCER), and Professor Xu Jiadong, former director of the Institution of Economics of Academic Sinica in Taiwan. The workshop is held every one year in turns in two sides, it has been held 10 times. The discussion in this workshop not only promotes the communication and mutual understanding between economics scholars in both institutes, but also enhances the friendship of each other. The 11th Economic Development Workshop across the Taiwan Strait will be held in Beijing in 2016.
